••story time:: this last spring >> a lady from asia (vietnam or korea) came to the coffee shop i worked at in rijeka and told me the story of figs~wasps i never heard . she saw my fig earrings and showed me a video of a few minutes of a mini wasp entering a fig throu the small entering hole at the bottom ♥

​

•• inside the fig the mini wasp laid eggs that would later hatch
~ after being born, the male wasps impregnate their 'sisters', exit the fig through the hole first so that the hungry mad ants on the other side would eat them instead of their chicks :::

​

so~ their whole life comes down to being born inside of a fig, doing their job in the breeding phase ,  and 'sacrificing' themselves by getting out there just to be welcomed by the head-chewing little ants 🙃, and then die in order for their females to get out alive and continue on with life 😌

•• it's a pretty cool story of a cycle of a being's life here on this earth, i think ~~ 

​

♥SSSO, in a way, the fig is like a womb that holds the potential of life inside of herself that would later get to the full fruition♥

♥she holds the space for life to emerge and evolve inside of her♥

​

~~ and then later, we pick her from the beautiful mediterranean tree and eat it <3
